hmmmm I have been using Photoshop for a very long time. But recently I decided I needed to make myself use and enjoy Lightroom. Know what, it worked. I do like Lightroom, I do, I do.

Seriously, it’s really easy to use, runs the nik plugins nicely (about the only plug in I use) and makes keeping track of your files a breeze so I’m giving it a……….

I admit I miss layers, I miss blending modes and masking a great deal too. but as LR has matured it’s really become a decent too. So if ya dont know LR, try it out.

Ricoh GR first impressions

I’m not particularly articulate and I try to never to dive too deeply into the technical end of the pool but I do want to share my first impressions of this new offering from Ricoh. From the moment you hold it, you realize they have served up a winner.

A bit bigger and beefier than its siblings it fits nicely in the hand. The folks at Pentax were smart enough to know they had a good thing so they did not monkey with settings much either. If you have any experience with the GR line, you should hit the road running with this baby.

Anxious to shoot but at the moment under flash flood watch for my area I was trying out some features inside. It’s dark, it’s dreary and this GR performed like a champ. I’m blown away by the image quality. I am including 3 shots of basically nothing just to give a sample. There will be much more to come for sure.

I shot this in a high contrast black and white, most of the grain you see was added in post processing because god forbid I process photos without grain.
